The 108th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and other times), starring Mio Imada , was broadcast on August 27th, and viewers were drawn to the interaction between Kentaro ( Fumiya Takahashi) and Meiko (Nanoka Hara).
In the 108th episode, Nobu (Imada) is delighted to learn that Takashi (Takumi Kitamura)'s poetry collection will be published. Yagi (Satoshi Tsumabuki) came up with the idea to hold a book signing event in an unusual location, and it ends up being a great success, despite Takashi's worries.
A few days later, Meiko visited the Yanai household and watched Nobu and Taka with envy. "I'm so lucky. Kentaro never talks about work. And he hasn't called me by my name for years. I'm not Kentaro's mom, though."
Later, in Ranko's (Yuumi Kawai) room, where the three sisters have gathered, Meiko reveals her secret wish: "When we were at our most beautiful, we couldn't even wear lipstick. We couldn't even wear dresses... There were no men in town, so we wore monpe and spent all our time digging holes for the air-raid shelters. But even after I become a mother, I want to dress up and walk around town with Kentaro. That would be exciting, wouldn't it?"
After hearing the story from Taka, Kentaro panics and asks, "What should I do?" When Taka suggests telling her he loves her, Kentaro panics and says, "I'll blush. Yanai, please tell her for me." An astonished Nobu opens Taka's poetry collection and shows Kentaro "The Dimple Song," saying, "I think this is Meiko's poem."
"When I want to cry, I hold it in. Crying doesn't suit me. Because I have dimples, even when I'm sad, I look like I'm smiling. Everyone says I always look happy and smiling, but my dimples are the ones holding it in. When I cry alone, tears gather in my dimples."
After reading the poem, Kentaro heads to the cafe where Meiko is and bows, saying, "I'm really sorry for being such a lazy man." Kentaro tells her, "When you want to cry, cry on my chest. I'll catch your tears." "Meiko, you're beautiful. The most beautiful," he says, and then he takes her hand and says, "Meiko... let's go!" and the two head off on their date. However, Kentaro panics, saying, "Damn... I forgot the bill," and Meiko smiles happily and says, "Oh come on, Kentaro."
On social media, people were saying things like, "I'm happy this morning," "Ken-chan is so passionate," "Meiko's confession was so real," "Ken-chan properly conveyed his feelings to Meiko, it was manly and cool," "Ken-chan really does love Meiko. He's just clumsy," and "It's a romantic production like a movie, but it has a punchline which is funny lol."
