A press conference to announce the new internet service "NHK ONE," which will begin broadcasting on October 1st, was held on July 29th at the station in Shibuya, Tokyo, and Akari Takaishi , who will play the heroine of the Asadora drama "Bakebake " to be broadcast in the second half of 2025, sent a video message.
"NHK ONE" is a service that provides simultaneous broadcasts of programs, catch-up broadcasts, news articles and videos, etc. on websites and apps that are tailored to the environment, such as smartphones, PCs, and internet-enabled TVs.
In a video message, Takaishi said, "On the set, the cast and staff are working hard together to create something great. NHK ONE will begin broadcasting on October 1st, almost at the same time as Bakebake, so I hope you will enjoy Bakebake to your heart's content by streaming it simultaneously or on catch-up streaming."
As footage from the "Bakebake" drama began playing in the video, the station's announcer, Suzuki Naoko, smiled and said, "This is the first time I've seen footage from the "Bakebake" drama."
In addition to Suzuki, other attendees at the press conference included Director Megumi Kurosaki, announcer Yoji Itoi, announcer Moe Soejima, Caster Yoshio Arima, and announcer Hanako Mori.
"Bakebake " is the story of a couple who love "ghost stories" together with their foreign husband, and who shed light on and speak for the "nameless people" who had been forgotten in Meiji Japan as Westernization progressed. Takaishi plays the heroine, Toki Matsuno , the daughter of a fallen samurai from Matsue, who is modeled after Yakumo Koizumi's (Lafcadio Hearn ) wife, Setsu.
