THE★JOJO WORLD, the first experiential official shop for Hirohiko Araki's popular manga series JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE, will open on July 24th on the 6th floor of Shibuya PARCO (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo). A preview was held on the 17th, and the interior of the store was unveiled. The store is decorated with various effects and gimmicks that invite fans into a "bizarre adventure," and visitors can enjoy an effect where "time stops" inside the store, just like DIO's Stand, The World.
"THE★JOJO WORLD" will have its grand opening as a permanent store following the positive reception of the "JOJO WORLD" event of the series, which has been held irregularly since 2021. In addition to selling manga and anime merchandise, visitors can enjoy the attractions and mini-games that were popular at previous events. There will also be an "Iggy Cafe" that serves menus inspired by the characters.
The entrance will be decorated with illustrations drawn by Araki of the nine main characters from the series. Upon entering the store, visitors will be able to enjoy shopping and games while feeling like they have become a "Stand user" who can see Stands by touching the arrow. At the time of opening, 11 types of Stands will be hidden in the store, which will also be fun to find.
At set times, the video of "The World" will be projected onto the ceiling, and the inside of the store will have a "time-stop" effect. There are two versions of the video: Jotaro Kujo VS DIO and Noriaki Kakyoin VS DIO.
In addition to the "Stand Ability Research Lab" attraction, where six items such as destructive power and speed are measured in order and the closest stand is diagnosed from about 120 stands, there is also a digital lottery called "It's Back! Memetaa! Ripple Roulette - Ripple energy is the power of 'Sendo'!!" where you can win prizes based on the onomatopoeia "Memetaa" that appears in a famous scene with Will A. Zeppeli, and a digital lottery called "Aim for a home run! Oh! That's a Baseball!!" where you can win prizes based on the video baseball game played by Jotaro in his fight with Terence T. D'Arby. There will also be an "Iggy Shrine Coffee Gum Fortune Telling" based on Iggy.
Business hours are 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. No holidays. For the time being after the opening, advance reservations are required to reduce congestion.
"JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE" is a popular manga that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump (published by the same publisher) in 1986. It has gained popularity for its epic story depicting the blood ties and fate of the Joestar family, which begins with the meeting of two boys, Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando, as well as its unique onomatopoeic expressions and impressive standing poses. The announcement that the seventh part, "Steel Ball Run", will be made into an anime has also been a hot topic.
