Actor Aoi Morikawa attended the preview screening of the drama series "Stingers" (Fuji TV, Tuesdays 9pm, starting on the 22nd), in which she plays the lead role, held in Tokyo on July 17th. When asked about her role, she said, "I'm just trying my best to stay cheerful."
The drama is an original story about the activities of the Metropolitan Police Department's unorthodox team, the Stingers, who take on the "undercover investigation" system, which is still unclear in Japan. Morikawa plays Nikaido Tamiko, the leader of the Metropolitan Police Department's newly established team, the Stingers (Undercover Investigation Verification Unit), who has returned from the United States.
Tamiko said that it is "an extremely cheerful role," and asked her co-stars for their agreement, saying, "I can't help but become gloomy myself. So I try my best to stay cheerful as much as possible."
When asked what she would be like and what she would do if she were to go undercover, she replied, "I'd like to become a cat and infiltrate a cat cafe," and then added, "I'd like to just go to sleep."
Morikawa-san said that he was scheduled to wake up at 6am and shoot until 11pm that day. He had a huge amount of lines to say, and said, "I can't believe it, I'm talking so much. I want to give up being a human for a bit (laughs)." He revealed the reason why he wanted to be a cat.
Also attending the event were WEST. members Fujii Ryusei, Kanata Hongo, Sara Shida, Haruhi Iuchi, Sugimoto Tetta, and Tamayama Tetsuji.
