An event for the anime "The Shosetsuka ni Naro Diaries," based on the light novel by Natsu Hyuga, which was born from the novel submission site "Let's The Apothecary Diaries," was held at the anime convention "Anime Expo 2025" held in Los Angeles, USA on July 4th, and special visuals of Maomao and Kosui drawn specifically for the event were also released.
In the visual showing Zi Cui trying to hug Maomao, Asami Seto, who plays Zi Cui/Rouran, said, "Zi Cui is the one going to hug her, but Maomao isn't so bad either. It's so cute how she seems to think that." Aoi Yuki , who plays Maomao , explained to American fans, "In Japanese, this expression on Maomao's face is called 'not entirely opposed' (laughs)."
The light novel version of "The Apothecary Diaries" is published by Hero Bunko (Imagine Infos), and the comic book adaptation is also gaining popularity. The total number of copies of the original series has exceeded 40 million. The story is set in a glamorous harem on a certain continent, where a poison taster girl named Maomao and the handsome harem manager Jinshi get caught up in an incident that takes place in a harem filled with conspiracies and rumors.
The first season of the TV anime aired on Nippon Television from October 2023 to March 2024. The second season began airing on Nippon Television's anime slot "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT (Fura-ani)" on January 10th, with the final episode airing on July 4th. A sequel has also been announced.
