On July 12th, it was revealed that Saito Yo, a new announcer at the station, will be the fifth assistant for the popular variety show "Moyamoya Summers 2 (Moyamoya Summers)" (Saturday 11:30 am) starring the comedy duo "Summers". During the broadcast on the same day, Summers pounced on Saito, who was undergoing announcing training before his debut, and made a surprise announcement. Saito was so surprised that he was unable to react, but he rushed into the customary assistant change ceremony and took over from the fourth assistant, Tanaka Hitomi, to successfully become the fifth assistant.
"Moyamoya Summers" is a city walking program in which the comedy duo "Samaazu" Kazuki Otake and Masakazu Mimura, along with three assistants, stroll around town commenting on things that make them feel "moyamoya". The assistants were first Mariko Oe, followed by Eri Kano and Noriko Fukuda, and the fourth, Tanaka, served for six years.
Saito, the fifth announcer, is 23 years old and joined TV Tokyo in April this year. He grew up in Yamagata Prefecture until junior high school and studied abroad in Oregon, USA during high school. He made his debut as an announcer at the "TV Tokyo Music Festival 2025" on July Getsuku.
Saito's Moyamoya Summers location debut will be in Kita-Shinjuku, a place he visited for the show's first location shoot and has appeared at various milestones since then. Saito, who received various advice from Tanaka at the "Assistant Change Ceremony," will descend on this "holy land" to mark the beginning of the show's 19th year.

It was the first time I talked to Saito. I saw her holding a thick notebook and asked her, "What did you learn in today's training?" She replied, "Well... the basics are important...!" and the moment I saw her grinning, the image of Mimura-san and Otake-san teasing her came to my mind. I thought, "This is the girl." It's really moving that the time has finally come for me to hand the baton to someone else at the Moyamoya Summers traditional handover ceremony.
