Kazuya Ohashi of the popular group " Naniwa Danshi " attended a press conference for the drama " Revenge Spy" (Saturday 11pm, starting July 5th) held at TV Asahi Corporation (Minato Ward, Tokyo) in which he stars. He was embarrassed by the "revelation" made by his co-star Nagisa Shibuya.
In a talk corner titled "The hidden side of that person that only you know," in reference to the spy-themed film, Shibuya announced on a flip chart, "Super idol Ohashi-san actually..." He revealed, "First, we had a script reading with Ohashi-san. There were a lot of staff members there, so it was quite tense, but Ohashi-san stumbled over almost all of the kanji (laughs)." Ohashi became very flustered at the unexpected revelation, exclaiming, "Stop it, seriously (laughs)!"
Shibuya-san continued, "I pretended not to notice that she would make mistakes, but the way she made them changed (more and more)... Everyone was excited to see what kind of mistake she would make next, and then she read "wanpaku" (naughty) as "udeshiro" (armpit), and the read-through was temporarily halted (laughs)." She smiled and said, "I was relieved to see that Ohashi-san, who I thought was a super idol, also had a human side!"
Meanwhile, Ohashi defended himself by saying, "I've never seen the kanji for 'wanpaku' (laughs)!" He added, "After that, the line 'wanpaku' came up again (in the script), but it was written in hiragana (laughs)," drawing laughter from the audience.
The drama is a romantic comedy about a young man, Yuga Sugawara (played by Ohashi), who is searching for the culprit who stole important information from his late brother, and falls in love with Hana Imuta (played by Shibuya Nagisa), the daughter of a company president who he infiltrates as a spy to gather evidence. Also attending the press conference were Mitsuomi Takahashi, and Naohiro Oriyama and Masanobu Takashima from STARTO ENTERTAINMENT's junior group "Shounen Ninja."
