NHK's documentary program "Document 72 Hours" (General TV, Friday 10pm) on June 27th will be set in a small zoo that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and admission is free.
The zoo is located in Yamagata Prefecture and although it does not have any elephants or lions, it is home to popular old deer and peacocks and has been a popular attraction for over 70 years.
It also serves as an animal rescue center, and houses injured or sick animals, such as injured birds that can no longer fly and foxes that have been in traffic accidents. Many different people visit the sanctuary, including those who come every day to talk to the animals and those who see themselves in the injured and rescued animals, and then leave with a feeling of hope.
The program is a documentary program that sets up a camera at one location each time and observes the various human dramas that occur there for 72 hours. It listens to the stories of people who meet by chance and captures the "present" era.
