In the 60th episode, the war situation becomes even more severe, and on July 4, 1945, air raid sirens sound in the town of Kochi. Nobu rushes out into the crowds of people, and when she hears a child crying in the distance, she runs in the opposite direction to the others.
Nobu ran up to the crying boy who had been separated from his parents and said, "It's dangerous here! Let's get away quickly! Hurry! You can't run! Hachikin is with you, so you'll be fine," and he put his arm around the boy's shoulders and ran through the fighting.
At the Asada household, Hatako ( Noriko Eguchi) learns that Kochi has been hit by an air raid. With trembling hands, she fills her water bottle with water and rushes to Nobu's house with Ranko (Yuumi Kawai) and Meiko (Nanoka Hara).
The town of Kochi was reduced to a burnt wasteland. Meiko broke down in tears. Ranko also cried out, "Big sis! If you do it, come out!" Hatako murmured to herself, "It'll be fine. It's Nobu, so he'll run away right away. Of course he will." Then Nobu appeared, and the four had a tearful reunion. The mother of the boy Nobu had saved was also found safe and sound.
At the end of the film, the Emperor's radio broadcast is played, bringing the long war to an end. The film ends with a scene of Nobu silently gazing out at the burnt-out town.
