Naoki Matayoshi, a member of the comedy duo "Peace" and a writer, will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 p.m. on February 24th.
More than 10 years have passed since he won the Akutagawa Prize for "Sparks," and he is busy outside of his main job, appearing in historical dramas and writing stage scripts. His partner in "Peace," Yuji Ayabe, has been living in the United States for about nine years, with the dream of becoming a Hollywood star, and they got married there. We will report on his partner's recent activities.
His mother is 75 years old and lives in Osaka. Recently, when he visits his parents' home, he makes it a point to ask her a lot of questions. He has loved asking people questions since he was a child, and perhaps because of this, he recalls a memorable incident that occurred the last time he saw his maternal grandfather. His paternal grandmother passed away a few years ago at around 104 years old, and his father passed away a week later. His father was a bit mischievous and lived a free-spirited life, and was apparently a very interesting person. He also talks about his feelings for his late father.
