Actor Asami Mizukawa appeared at the fashion event "31st Fashion Cantata from KYOTO" held at Kyoto Theater (Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City) on June 14th. She walked down the runway wearing two kimonos. Mizukawa said, "This is my first opportunity to appear in a kimono fashion show, and I am very honored to have the opportunity to wear a traditional Japanese kimono."
The kimonos she wore were a roketsu-zome kimono designed by designer Aono Yasuo, and a striking kimono with straight lines and vivid blue designed by Kano Kotaro, and she described both kimonos as "colorful and vivid outfits."
Regarding kimonos, she said, "Although they are something close to Japanese people, they seem a little distant when you think about them in everyday life. I feel that if kimonos became a little more familiar, they would become even more connected to a wonderful everyday life."
