It was revealed on Getsuku 16th that the weekly average viewership rating ( Asadora) for the 11th week of the NHK morning drama "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8am and others), starring Mio Imada, titled "I Hate the Military, But" (June 9th to 13th) was 16.0% (calculated from a survey by Video Research, Kanto region), the highest rating for the show.
" Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013) and Nobu (1918-1993), the manga artist and picture book writer who created "Anpanman." It is a "story of love and courage" that will make you feel the joy of living, depicting how these two, who were once nobody, overcame all sorts of rough seas to become "Anpanman," the embodiment of "unreversible justice."
In the 11th week, Takashi (Takumi Kitamura) is transferred from the Kochi regiment to the Kokura regiment. There, he meets the mysterious Private First Class Yagi Shinnosuke (Satoshi Tsumabuki). Meanwhile, in Kochi, Nobu (Imada) receives a letter from Jiro (Ayumu Nakajima). The last sentence of the letter makes Nobu feel an indescribable unease. And the war situation continues to worsen.
Two years after joining the army, Takashi meets Chihiro (Motoki Nakazawa) again. Takashi is shocked to find out that Chihiro has become a naval officer. Chihiro gives Takashi an old notebook with the words "There's no turning back now."
Eventually, the Kokura Regiment is ordered to mobilize, and Taka is sent to China. The day before departure, while the squad members are drinking and having fun, Taka expresses his gratitude to Yagi, who is gazing at the stars alone, and gives him a sketch of Yagi's profile. Taka says he wants to return alive at all costs, and Yagi gives him some advice... and so the story unfolds.
