Shingo Murakami of the popular group "SUPER EIGHT" was appointed as the "This Week's Special Director" in the new system of the popular variety show "Detective! Night Scoop" (ABC TV, Friday 11:17 pm). He showed off his witty exchanges with the detectives and his spot-on comments, and performed brilliantly as the first special director.
In "Detective! Night Scoop," each detective has taken turns serving as the acting chief since February 2, 2024, but starting from the broadcast on June 20, a new position called "This Week's Special Chief" will be introduced. Each episode will feature a different guest as the special chief.
Murakami smoothly read out the opening line, "We will take a sharp scalpel into the complex and intricate modern society..." and introduced himself as "This week's special director, Murakami Shingo." He made everyone laugh by saying, "I've got more work in Tokyo, but I'm glad I speak in Kansai dialect."
"When I first received the offer, I thought I'd be on the detective side...Of course. I didn't think I'd be sitting here (in the director's seat) and it seemed like a lot of things had jumped right in. I'm 43 now, but in the history of 'Night Scoop,' I'm still very young. I felt it would be presumptuous of me to take on such a long-running program," he said.
Murakami's performance as "This Week's Special Director" will be broadcast on June 20th.
