It has been announced that Taiwanese actress Suri Lin will be appearing in the special drama "Queen of Mars," scheduled to air on NHK in December. The story is set on Mars 100 years in the future, and she will play the blind protagonist Lili-E1102. She commented, "I'm really happy to be able to play Lili, and to be able to work with everyone in the drama's unimaginable future."
"Queen of Mars" is part of NHK's 100th anniversary project. It is a science fiction drama set in a world where 100,000 people have migrated to Mars 100 years from now, and a new era begins with the appearance of a mysterious "object" with unknown powers.
The year is 2125, and 40 years have passed since humans moved to Mars, but the word "stability" does not exist there. The Martian society is quietly unstable, with ISDA (Interplanetary Space Development Agency) ruling it and residents wanting to live freely. Then, "It" suddenly appears, along with a supernatural phenomenon beyond human understanding. Who created it, and why is it here? And is it a hope or a disaster for humanity?
Sri Lin was born on November 19, 2000 and is 24 years old. The character she plays in the drama, Lili-E1102, is a 22-year-old music lover. She is visually impaired from birth. She graduated from an academy on Mars and was heading to Earth. She loves radio and became a fan of the Earth band "Disc Miners" after hearing a song on the radio.
It was also announced that Masaki Suda will be appearing in the drama as Aoto Shiraishi. Aoto Shiraishi is a young employee working at the Japanese branch of ISDA. He is knowledgeable about minerals and a fan of the Disk Miners. He met Lili during a training session on Mars, and they hit it off as they are both fans of the Disk Miners. His father went missing 22 years ago. He continues to suspect that a certain scientist is responsible for this.
Suda revealed, "Acting while imagining what was beyond our imagination was a series of encounters with the unknown," and added, "However, alongside the evolved technology, there is also body heat that remains unchanged, for better or worse. I'm looking forward to watching the film while imagining the future."
