"Bura Tamori" (NHK General TV, Saturday 7:30 pm) is a popular variety show in which the entertainer Tamori visits various towns. On June 14th, the setting is Aoyama Street in Tokyo, where a steep slope that even Tamori gets excited about appears.
On this day, we will explore why Aoyama-dori, which connects Akasaka, Aoyama, and Omotesando with Tokyo's prime locations, is so wonderful. We will look into the secrets of this wonderful street from the traces of the Edo period. Starting from Miyakezaka, right next to the Imperial Palace, we suddenly discover stone walls from the Edo period. The roots of Aoyama-dori lie in the Oyama Kaido, an Edo period road that began at Akasaka Gomon.
When you go up the steep slope of Edo, where it was said that even cows moo, a huge gate of a feudal lord's residence suddenly appears. Tamori is very excited. We also look into whether the wide, straight road is a trace of a streetcar.
Tamori's travel partner will be NHK Hiroshima announcer Mana Sato, and the narration will be provided by singer-songwriter Aimyon.
