The eighth episode of the TV drama "PJ ~Air Rescue Team~" (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm), starring actor Seiyo Uchino, will be broadcast on June 12th.
Sawai Jin (Fuju Kamio), who aspires to become a rescuer (commonly known as PJ, pararescue jumper), is shocked to learn that the rescuer who saved him when he was lost in a snowy mountain 12 years ago is his instructor, Usami Seiji (Uchino). When he asks for more details about what happened at the time, Usami tells him about the time he found Sawai's father, Uesugi Kozo (Wada Masato), lying on the ground.
Sawai continues to regret that his father died because of his selfish actions. Usami continues to ask himself why he couldn't save Uesugi and whether his judgment was correct. The two are finally able to talk about what happened that day, but...
After talking with Sawai, his ex-wife Mako Nogi (Kyoka Suzuki) noticed something strange about Usami and told him that he should tell her how he felt. Yuuna (Ai Yoshikawa), who overheard her parents' conversation, makes a suggestion to the other students.
Meanwhile, Sayaka Fujiki (Anna Ishii), who has declined the rescue worker course, arrives at Komaki Base.
The screenplay was written by Izumi Takahashi. The story depicts students aiming to become rescuers for the Air Self-Defense Force's Air Rescue Wing, an elite rescue unit known as the "last stronghold" for saving lives, as they go through rigorous training under the strict and unconventional instructor, Usami.
