It has been revealed that Fuma Kikuchi of "timelesz", who has appeared in the first series as "Blue Demon" Fuma Kikuchi , will continue to play the role in the third series of the drama " Broadcasting Station Occupy Sho, "Broadcasting Station Occupy" (Nippon TV, Saturday 9pm). Kikuchi said, "I'm very happy to be appearing in this series more than in "New Airport Occupy".
Yamato, played by Kikuchi, was the leader of the armed group "Night Parade of One Hundred Demons" during the "Large Hospital Occupation" incident, and fought a deadly battle with detective Musashi Saburo, played by Sakurai. He took over the hospital in order to uncover the truth behind the suspicious death of his younger sister, Kotone, but was ultimately arrested and imprisoned. In the "New Airport Occupation" incident the following year, he gives Musashi and the others hints from his detention center, but escapes towards the end of the series. The final scene shows him talking to someone on the roof of a high-rise building, smiling fearlessly as he walks away, and so it was widely expected that he would continue in the role.
◇Comment from Fuma Kikuchi
--What were your thoughts when you heard about the offers to appear in the sequels "Big Hospital Occupy" and "New Airport Occupy"?
I was very happy. Since "Occupying the Hospital", I have been telling them directly that "If there is a sequel, I would like to appear again". I also appeared in "New Airport Occupy", but this time I am very happy to appear more than in "New Airport Occupy". Above all, I am a fan of the Occupy series, so I am genuinely happy that it will return in the same worldview.
-What were your thoughts when you read the script?
When I heard that they were going to occupy a broadcasting station, I was curious to see how it would be portrayed, and I felt like it was so close to me that I was already excited from the first episode. To sum up this work in one word, it's "a series of betrayals." For me, it's not just surprising betrayals, it's happy betrayals, like, "Oh, that's how it is." I think it's going to be a drama that you can't take your eyes off of. There are so many betrayals in so many different places, so I hope you'll look forward to it.
--This is your third time appearing in a film. What do you keep in mind when preparing for a role?
I had been growing my hair out. Since a lot of time has passed since the "Hospital Occupation," I thought it would be best not to cut my hair in relation to that, and I haven't cut it since I was offered this role.
I also rewatched Occupying the Great Hospital. I created the character with a unique way of speaking, and I imagined Koichi Yamato himself getting into the role of Aooni, so I reviewed that way of speaking and other aspects.
--Did you have any conversation with the lead actor, Sakurai-san?
Yes. However, there are many secrets about this Occupation series, so I can't say much, so I said, "Next time, please (laughs)." However, the third work is also a turning point, so Sho-kun said, "It would be nice if we could do something together." I'm also thinking about various things, and I'd like to enjoy this rare opportunity.
-In keeping with Musashi's line, "That can't be true," what has been the last time that you thought "That can't be true"?
--When we were talking about hairstyles during the costume fitting for this film, the director said, "Gray hair would be good too." At the time, I thought, "That must be a lie." It's hard to bleach and keep the hair in style, so in terms of how much effort you put into it, it's comparable to having a buzz cut! Probably (laughs).
-- A message to the viewers who are looking forward to the drama
As a fan of the Occupy series, I am also very much looking forward to this. I will do my best to add even more luster to this wonderful work, so I hope you will look forward to it.
