An event for the 4th season of the popular TV anime "Mr. Osomatsu" entitled "TV Anime ' Mr. Osomatsu' Season 4 Broadcast Commemorative Event Are You Ready to Have Fun? The Mr. Osomatsu-san Sextuplets and Totoko Welcome Party!!" was held on June 6th at Westa Kawagoe Grand Hall (Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture), with a Osomatsu studded cast including Takahiro Sakurai as Osomatsu, Yuichi Nakamura Yuichi as Karamatsu , Hiroshi Kamiya as Choromatsu , Jun Fukuyama Jyushimatsu , Miyu Irino as Jyuushimatsu, Irino Miyu as Todomatsu , and Aya Endo as Totoko.
It has been about 10 years since the first season of the TV anime began in October 2015. Sakurai-san expressed his hopes for further developments, saying, "I'm happy that it's getting more and more amazing. I'd like to see a sixth season. I'd be happy if it continued to a tenth season or so."
Ono said, "Working on Mr. Osomatsu makes me feel energized. Being involved in this series has become like my life's work," and Nakamura said, "Ten years ago we all said, 'We want to keep doing this forever, like it's our life's work.' I do wonder if this life's work must be tiring after 10 years, but I can feel everyone's passion and I am overwhelmed with emotion."
"Mr. Osomatsu" is based on Fujio Akatsuka's comedy manga "Osomatsu kun." It depicts the daily lives of the sextuplets as adults, and is popular for its extreme gags. The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2015 to March 2016, the second season from October 2017 to March 2018, and the third season from October 2020 to March 2021. The movie version "Osomatsu San Movie" was released in March 2019. The first new anime to commemorate the 6th anniversary, "Mr. Osomatsu-san: The Hippipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit," will be screened in theaters from July 2022, and the second, "Mr. Osomatsu: The Soul's Takoyaki Party and the Legendary Sleepover," will be screened in theaters from July 2023. The fourth season will be broadcast on TV Tokyo every Tuesday at midnight from July 8th.
