It has been announced that the TV anime " Gachiakuta ", based on the battle action manga by Kei Urana Kei currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), will be broadcast on the CBC TV/TBS anime slot "Agaru Anime" from July 6th. The main visual featuring the expressions of the main characters Rudo, Engine, Zanka, and Ryo has been released. The official PV has also been released, depicting the raging battle action.
Information on the theme songs was also announced, with the band "Paledusk" performing the opening theme (OP) "HUGs" and the two-person music unit "DUSTCELL" performing the ending theme (ED) "Tomoka." Both songs were written specifically for " Gachiakuta" and were unveiled in the PV.
It was also revealed that Toshiyuki Morikawa and Yuki Shin will appear as additional cast members. Morikawa will play Regt, Rudo's adoptive father, and Arata will play Jabbar, a member of the Trolls, an organization that is in conflict with the Cleaners.
KAITO, the vocalist of Paledusk, who performs the opening theme, said, "The lyrics of this song are more straightforward and revealing than ever before in Paledusk's song history. I think it's a song that matches the worldview of the original work!"
EMA, the vocalist of DUSTCELL, who is in charge of the ending theme, commented, "What is the true 'righteousness' in life that can overturn unreasonable malice? In recent years, there have been many silly disputes, so I was really moved by the protagonist Ludo's boyish, deep-hearted purity, and how even though he was rejected, he still found what was important to him and fought single-mindedly for his friends. I think I was able to fully capture the soul of Ludo and his friends' 'serious' way of life in the song 'Light.'" Composer Misumi said, "I spun the words while overlapping the protagonist Ludo, who was abandoned in the abyss, living strong no matter how unreasonable he was, with our own way of life."
Morikawa, who plays Regt, said, "He is the adoptive father of the main character, Rudo, and is the character who probably knows him better than anyone else. His character watches over his growth, sometimes like an older brother, and sometimes like a real parent. I intend to do my best to play the role so that a soul resides in Regt."
Arata, who plays Jabbar, sent the following message: "I think the passion that overflows from this work will be conveyed to everyone even more in the form of an anime. We're still not sure what kind of role I'll be playing, Jabbar, but he's a crazy and wonderful character, so please look forward to it!"
The "Anime Series Gachiakuta World Takeover: Global Premiere Event" will be held in 15 regions around the world. In Japan, it will be held at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku, Tokyo) on July 4th, and Aoi Ichikawa, who plays Rudo, Katsuyuki Konishi, who plays Engine, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, who plays Zanka, and Yumiri Hanamori, who plays Rio, will be on stage.
It was also announced that a new project called "Gachiakuta World Takeover" will be launched. The project aims to share the enthusiasm for "Gachiakuta" with fans all over the world, and various content will be rolled out. The first content released will be "Behind Gachiakuta," an interview video with the original author Kei Urana Kei and Hideyoshi Ando, who is in charge of the original "graffiti design," as well as "Gachiakuta Graffiti Maker," which allows anyone to create their own "Gachi style" graffiti. A huge "Gachiakuta" booth will be set up at Kodansha's booth at Anime Expo, which will be held in Los Angeles in July.
"Gachiakuta" began serialization in February 2022 in "Weekly Shonen Magazine." The story is about an orphan boy named Rudo who was born in a slum where the descendants of criminals live. He makes a living using his extraordinary physical abilities, but one day he is framed for a crime he did not commit and is thrown into the "abyss" that even the people of the slums fear. The series won the Global Special Award in the comics category of the "Next Manga Awards 2022."
