Actor Kokoro Terada attended the "Pet Line New Custom: Celebrating Dog and Cat Years" event held in Tokyo on June 4th. Terada, who lives with five dogs, including a rescue dog, and also volunteers to care for elderly dogs, spoke about his passion for dogs.
At the event, Samsun the dog and Moe the cat appeared as representatives of senior dogs and cats. Terada-san said, "He's so cute!" with a lovestruck look. Regarding Samsun, who calmly struck a pose, she said with a smile, "He's really grown up. He's a grown-up boy. There are many things I admire about him, like the way he looks into the camera."
Finally, Terada emphasized, "The importance of life and caring for them until the very end. Dogs and cats are not objects. I believe they should be treated as family members and cherished, just like humans."
The "Dog Calendar/Nyan Calendar Celebration" is a new custom proposed by the pet food manufacturer Petline Co., Ltd., to celebrate the milestone of when a beloved dog or cat turns 10 years old, just like a human's 60th birthday celebration. Talent Shoko Nakagawa also attended the event as a representative of cat lovers.
