Rock band TUBE, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary since its debut, will hold its first concert in 20 years in Hawaii on June 1st, the anniversary of their debut, to kick off their anniversary year. WOWOW will record the concert and broadcast it as a program that includes a documentary in July. Starting in July, the band will be featured on the program for 12 consecutive months.
TUBE's first live performance in Hawaii was at Aloha Stadium on June 1, 2000, the 15th anniversary of their debut. The Governor of Hawaii designated June 1 as "TUBE DAY," deepening their connection with the band, and they also performed in Waikiki in June 2005, the 20th anniversary of their debut, so Hawaii is a place that holds a lot of meaning for TUBE and their fans. The 40th anniversary live performance was held at an outdoor venue, with the natural scenery of Hawaii as a backdrop, befitting a band that has long been loved as "synonymous with summer." This live and documentary program will include not only footage of the stage, but also rehearsal scenes and close-up coverage of the band on site.
The performance at the Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, Hawaii will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Prime and WOWOW On Demand from 7 pm on July 26th under the title "TUBE LIVE AROUND SPECIAL 2025.6.1 at Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell Hawaii". After the performance, the archive will be available for one month on WOWOW On Demand.
On June 11th, TUBE will release their first ever best album, which includes all their hit singles, such as "Season in the Sun" and "Ah Summer Vacation." They will also release an album with collaborations with Seikima-II, GACKT, and Hirose Kohmi. In July, they will begin their first nationwide tour in four years. WOWOW will team up with TUBE for a year to broadcast and stream a program full of fun projects for their anniversary year.
