Actor Hana Sugisaki appeared at the 62nd Galaxy Awards ceremony held in Tokyo on June 2nd. She was selected as the winner of the TV category individual award for her performances in the dramas "Unmet: The Diary of a Brain Surgeon" (Kantele/Fuji TV) and Sunday Theatre "Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea" (TBS).
Sugisaki smiled and said, "I was surprised because I never thought I would receive such a wonderful award. I believe that God resides in the details, and I feel relieved that the work I've done day by day has not been wrong."
He continued, "It is a great blessing to have had the opportunity to meet such important colleagues who came together with the pure desire to create something good. I would like to express my gratitude to the president for strongly encouraging me to take on these two projects."
On this day, "Unmet" producer Takashi Yoneda came to congratulate her and recounted, "For the last scene of episode 9, where Miyabi (Sugisaki) and Dr. Sanpei (Ryuya Wakaba) are talking, we attempted a long take of about 15 minutes, and I had many discussions with Sugisaki about how we could get to this point. It would be presumptuous to say that Sugisaki's acting is like this. It's easy to say that her acting is natural, but it's as if Kawauchi Miyabi is there, existing on the same level as her...I knew the script, but I was looking forward to seeing what the two of them would talk about after this, and her acting was very impressive."
