Actor Eiichiro Funakoshi's signature program "Eiichiro Funakoshi's Showa Regeneration Factory" (Thursdays 9:00 pm) is currently being broadcast on BS12 TwellV. The "Showa Heritage" corner on May 29th will feature hand-painted movie signs. The program will follow sign painter Shoji Hachijo, who works on the movie signs at the Shinsekai International Theater in Osaka.
The program looks back on "items that evoke memories of the Showa era," "places that evoke memories of the Showa era," and "people that evoke memories of the Showa era," and brings back memories of the good old Showa era.
Hachijo has painted over 400 movie billboards to date. He continues to preserve the atmosphere of the Showa era with his late father, who also worked as a billboard artist, in his heart. This time, Hachijo will present a special "movie billboard-style" gift to the two show's MCs, Funakoshi and Sakata Marin.
The program also aired the popular segment "Kenichi Nagira's Visit to the Showa Era." Nagira strolled around the Tsukiji Outer Market, which has changed shape but still retains its vitality even after its relocation to Toyosu.
