The TV drama series "Shiawase na Kekkon" (Thursdays 9pm), which will begin airing on TV Asahi in July, has begun filming, and the lead actor Sadao Abe and the heroine Takako Matsu have both made comments.
The drama is an original work by Shizuka Oishi , the screenwriter who wrote last year's NHK Taiga drama " Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e) ." The story follows the life of a bachelor lawyer, Harada Kotaro (Abe), who is attracted to and marries Suzuki Nerla (Matsu), a mysterious high school art teacher, but Nerla is hiding a huge secret... It is a suspenseful story that questions the love between a husband and wife.
On the first day of filming, they shot the scene in the hospital elevator where Kotaro and Nella had their "fateful encounter." After filming was finished, Abe commented, "When we shot the moment our eyes first met, I felt both fear and beauty, and I think it showed how Kotaro is attracted to Nella. His expression said, "That's how it happened!" and I thought Matsu-san was really amazing."
"Matsu-san even operated the elevator (opening and closing) himself by timing it perfectly while acting. I was amazed that he could make that face while pressing the open, close and extend buttons (laughs)," he said.
On the other hand, Matsu said, "When I actually came to the set and acted with Abe, I felt that the meeting between Kotaro and Nella was a wonderful thing. At least for the two of them, it was very romantic...When I looked into Abe's eyes, I naturally felt that way, so it really was a fateful encounter. It was a strange but wonderful first day."
He added, "I think this story will exceed everyone's expectations in a good way. I've heard people say that they have high expectations, but I feel a lot of pressure, so I ask them not to get their hopes up too much... (laughs). We're relieved that the story has gotten off to a fun start."
