Actor Mikako Tabe stars in the TV drama "Taigan no Kaji ~Kore ga, Watashi no Ikiru Michi~" (TBS, Tuesdays at 10pm). The synopsis and stills from the sixth episode, which will air on May 6th, have been released.
Shiho (Tabe) receives a letter saying, "A full-time housewife like you is a burden." Reiko (Noriko Eguchi) accidentally opens the letter, but for Shiho's sake, she decides to keep the matter to herself.
Shiho is taken by Nakatani (Dean Fujioka) to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare for a hearing on the "Work Comeback Project," which supports women in balancing work with marriage, childbirth, and caregiving, and returning to work.
When an employee who promotes dual-income households tells Shiho, "It's a waste not to return to work when you have a skill," she begins to wonder if she should return to work in order to contribute to society.
Reiko, who was looking for a speaker for an in-house lecture, contacts Yoko (Kataoka Reiko), a senior colleague she admired from her days in the sales department and who had become the company's first female manager, as a role model.
Based on the novel "Taigan no Kaji" (Kodansha Bunko) by Kiko Akano, the story depicts the "endless work" of housework through the protagonist's interactions with "people on the other side of the river" who have different positions and ways of thinking than her.
