The drama is set in the Air Self-Defense Force's Air Rescue Wing, commonly known as PJ (Pararescue Jumper), an elite rescue unit known as the "last line of defense for saving lives." The story depicts trainees aiming to become PJ members undergoing rigorous training under the strict and unconventional head instructor, Seiji Usami (Uchino).
In the first episode, a year of hellish training begins under the unconventional and passionate Usami. The seven trainees each have their own secret desires and are determined to become a project leader.
