Popular video creator HIKAKIN appeared at the 3D dubbing premiere event for the movie "Minecraft: The Movie" (directed by Jared Hess, released on April 25th) held in Tokyo on April 24th, the day before the film's release. The children who gathered at the venue loudly cheered, "HIKAKIN-san!"
"Minecraft" is a game in which players can freely create and adventure in a virtual space made up of 3D blocks, and in 2023, worldwide sales exceeded 300 million copies. This is the first time that the world of "Minecraft" has been made into a live-action movie.
HIKAKIN greeted the audience with "Bum bum, hello Minecraft!" He is a big fan of Minecraft and has been posting Minecraft gameplay videos on his YouTube channel for over 10 years. In the Japanese dubbed version, he voices the villagers, and said with emotion, "I've been playing around with villagers for a long time, so I'm honored that a day like this has come."
Also attending the event were Koichi Yamadera, Hiroki Yasumoto, Meru Nukumi, and Kano Eiko.
The film depicts the adventures of four men and women, including Steve (Jack Black) and former top gamer Garrett (Jason Momoa), who are transported to a mysterious world called "Minecraft World" after touching a mysterious glowing blue cube, where they can create anything they can think of.
