The 14th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " starring Mio Imada (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 am and others) was broadcast on April 17th. At the end of the episode, Tomiko ( Nanako Matsushima Nanako), who had not been heard from for eight years, suddenly appeared in front of Takashi (Takumi Kitamura), causing a stir among viewers.
In the 14th episode, Takashi is in a good mood after receiving a prize for a manga he submitted to a newspaper. Meanwhile, Nobu (Imada) learns that it was Chihiro (Motoki Nakazawa) who saved him when he nearly fell during a bread-eating contest, and expresses his gratitude to her. Seeing the two of them talking face to face, Takashi's heart is unsettled.
Towards the end of the film, Nobu arrives as Takashi is talking with "Yam-onchan" Kusakichi (Sadao Abe). As Takashi prepares to leave, Tomiko appears in a blue kimono. Tomiko smiles and asks, "Takashi? It's been a while. How have you been?" Takashi is speechless and says, "Mom..." Tomiko happily says, "Takashi, you've grown so much."
Tomiko is the mother of Taka and Chihiro. After losing her husband, Kiyoshi (Kazunari Ninomiya), she came to Kochi from Tokyo to rely on Kiyoshi's older brother, Hiroshi (Yutaka Takenouchi). When Taka was in elementary school, she left home saying she would be back soon and never returned. One day, Taka visited her using the address on a postcard she received. However, Tomiko had already remarried and introduced Taka to her new husband as a relative. She told Taka, "You shouldn't come here anymore. Go back to your uncle," and tried to give him some money, but Taka shook off her hand and ran off.
Comments on social media about Tomiko's sudden appearance included, "Is the Tomiko Theatre finally opening?", "What kind of face does she have?", "I wonder what happened to Tomiko?", "Maybe she came to see him after seeing Takashi's manga", "Takashi looks so pitiful", and "As beautiful as ever".
