A stage greeting to commemorate the screening of the third chapter of the latest installment of the remake series of the popular anime "Space Battleship Yamato", "Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199", "Ultramarine Asteroid", was held at Marunouchi Piccadilly (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) on April 12th. Harutoshi Fukui, the general director, appeared and spoke about the popular character Sasha.
In "Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199", Shiro Sanada and Kaoru Niimi are taking care of Sasha. Sasha is the daughter of Mamoru Kodai and Starsha, and for Kaoru Niimi, she is the "daughter of his ex-boyfriend". Fukui explained the circumstances, saying, "Sanada was going to take care of her, but he was concentrating on a lot of things and there were times when he only put one sock on her, so (Kaoru Niimi) thought that maybe she had to take care of her..." When the topic turned to the reason for Sasha's rapid growth, he hinted, "I think people who like science fiction will probably know."
Also appearing on stage to greet the audience were Megumi Han, who plays Sasha, Aya Megumi Han, who plays Kaoru Niimi, Tasuku Hatanaka, who plays Ryusuke Domon, and Yuto Uemura, who plays Takeshi Ageha. Regarding the relationship between Niimi and her "ex-boyfriend's daughter," Hisakawa said, "For Niimi, there is nothing negative about her. She adores and protects her with maternal love. She does her best to carry her on her back, hold her in her arms, and I think that's true love."
"Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199" is a new interpretation of the original third movie "Be Forever Yamato" released in 1980. Fukui will serve as general director, and will also be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting.
