Ayako Sawada, a 76-year-old talent, will be appearing on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 pm on March 14th.
In recent years, she has been active as an actor and presenter, but made her debut as a singer in 1973. To commemorate his 50th anniversary in showbiz, she produced a self-produced CD of original songs, which ranked on the music charts and was featured on various music programs, which led to her unintentionally resuming her singing career. Since she does all of her singing himself, she is enjoying new challenges since turning 75, such as going alone to regional shopping centers she has never been to before to run CD sales campaigns.
Last year, she held a dinner show to celebrate his 50th anniversary. She got to sing a duet with her daughter, a singer-songwriter who graduated from Berklee College of Music. Everyone around her and her daughter were moved to tears, but she recalled that she was so busy trying not to get scolded by her daughter, who is very strict about music, for "being off-key" that she had no time to cry.
