It has been revealed that Aina the End will be performing the ending theme "Katsubou" for the second chapter of the completely new movie version of the popular TV anime "Mononoke," which was broadcast on Aina the End TV's late-night anime slot "Noitamina" in 2007, "Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 2: Fire Rat." Following on from the theme song "Love Sick" for the first chapter, "Mononoke the Movie: Karakasa, " Aina the End has also been announced to be performing the theme song "Hana Musou" for the second chapter, "Fire Rat," meaning that she will also be performing the ending. The music video for "Katsubou," which uses footage from the anime, has been released on YouTube.
The anime music video is a rhythmic edit of the main story to match the up-tempo melody, and the meaningful expressions of the characters scattered throughout the video suggest the complicated intentions of each of them within the Ooku. The chorus also depicts a battle scene with the Mononoke fire rat.
Aina the End said about the ending, "I aimed for something up-tempo, something that contrasts with 'Hana Musou'," and sang it while remembering the state of mind of a moment when you get emotional and speak important words too quickly, when your emotions take over what you want to convey. "It's a song with a good rhythm, and very fast, but it's full of emotions that can't be put into words. I think it's an interesting song." After watching the film, she said, "The timing of the ending theme was cool!" and sent a message to fans, saying, "The sound environment in movie theaters is great, so the songs sparkle and take flight. And the sense of color in 'Mononoke' is one of a kind, so I hope you'll catch 'Mononoke the Movie Chapter 2: Fire Rat' with your own black eyes at the movie theater."
To commemorate the release of the second chapter, "Fire Rat," it has been announced that special gifts will be distributed to attendees of the special screening of the first chapter, "Mononoke: Karakasa," which will be held from March 7th. The special gift is a "special project visual postcard" measuring approximately 23.5 cm wide and 10 cm high, depicting a medicine seller surrounded by maids in the great hall of the Ooku, holding a sword. The visual was released on Official X in 2023 and became a hot topic.
"Mononoke" is an anime produced by the staff of the popular episode "Bakeneko" of "Ayakashi", which was broadcast on Noitamina in 2006. The story depicts the supernatural tale of a medicine seller who appeared in "Bakeneko" facing off against a Mononoke.
"Mononoke the Movie" is set in the inner palace, where women's passions swirl, and follows a medicine seller as he pursues the true identity of the "Mononoke." There are three chapters in total, with the first chapter, "Mononoke the Movie: Karakasa," set to be released in July 2024, and the second chapter, "Mononoke the Movie: Chapter 2: Fire Rat," set to be released on March 14. Nakamura Kenji, who worked on the TV series and the first chapter, will be the general director of Chapter 2, and Suzuki Kiyotaka will be the director.
