The first album by voice actress Masuyama Eiko, who played the roles of Mine Fujiko in the popular anime series "Lupin the Third" and Kisaragi Honey in "Cutie Honey" and passed away in May this year, "Eiko Sho: Masuyama Eiko First Album" has been released on CD for the first time on December 11th. The album was recorded in 1980 and released as an LP, and has been reissued for the first time in about 44 years. It was also made available for streaming on the same day. A preview trailer for the album has also been released on YouTube.
The album includes famous anime songs such as "Canti no Uta", the ending theme of the anime "Hans Christian Andersen", "Yogiri no Honey", the ending theme of Cutie Honey, and "Love Squall", the ending theme of Lupin the Third, as well as songs and narrations from the solo musicals "I am a Certain Woman" and "Hoshi no Ondine". "Mayoi Michi", with lyrics written by the late Makio Inoue, known for his role as Goemon Ishikawa in Lupin the Third, is also included.
The accompanying booklet also includes a message that Masuyama wrote at the time: "Memories usually fade into oblivion, but I feel happy that they have been tangibly tangible and remain, and I hope that the new songs and conversations in this album will remain in the hearts of those who listen."
Following the reissue of the album after 44 years, voice actors with ties to Masuyama have commented. Masako Nozawa said, "Tonchi was a great singer. Masuyama and I used to call each other 'Tonchi' and 'Mako' when we were young, and I often went to his house to hang out. I'm really happy that Tonchi's old LPs are now being released on CD. Unfortunately, we can no longer listen to Tonchi's new songs, but this reissued CD is precious and important to me. I sincerely hope that as many people as possible will listen to it."
Hirano Aya commented, "First of all, to me Masuyama Eiko is Fujiko Mine from ' Lupin the Third'. She has a truly elegant sexiness. She is one of a kind. Imagine me hearing her live voice when we first worked together on 'Lupin'. I was trembling. Masuyama's everyday demeanor is truly elegant and cute! To be able to hear Masuyama's voice on CD. There is no greater 'feast for the ears'! I am so happy♡."
