The "Broadcast Commemoration Miracle Screening" event for "Witchy Pretty Cure!! ~MIRAI DAYS~," the sequel to the 13th installment of the popular anime "PreCure" series, "Maho Girls PreCure!", was held at Shinjuku Wald 9 (Shinjuku, Tokyo) on December 7th. This is the first sequel in about eight years since the series ended in January 2017, and Rie Takahashi who plays Cure Miracle/Asahina Mirai, exploded with joy, saying, "I'm so happy!" and "It's so moving."
Also appearing at the event were Yui Horie, who plays Cure Magical/Riko Izayoi, Saori Hayami, who plays Cure Felice/Kotoha Hanaumi and also plays the new character Hisui, and Rie Kitagawa, who sings the opening theme "Dokkin◇Maho Girls PreCure!! Part 3 ~MIRAI DAYS~". Episode 50 of "Maho Girls PreCure!" and the first episode of the sequel were screened, and a video message from Ayaka Saito, who plays Mofurun, was also introduced.
Horie said, "Before recording began, Rie wrote in the LINE group, 'I want to enjoy this miraculous time to the fullest,' and I thought she was right." Takahashi added, "She made a miracle happen, so I leaned forward and enjoyed it to the fullest."
Hayami said, "The dubbing was amazing too!" and seemed excited about the first episode, saying, "From the very first second, I was like, 'Ahhhh!'"
"Maho Girls PreCure!" aired from February 2016 to January 2017. The catchphrase was "Two time periods (futures) are now connected with the magical words 'Cure Up Rapapa!'" and the story was set in the magical world and the Nasimahou world (human world), depicting Asahina Mirai, Izayoi Riko, and Hanaumi Kotoha transforming into the "legendary magical girls" PreCure and doing great things.
In the sequel, Mirai is a university student in the non-magic world, Riko has returned to the magical world and is now a teacher at a magic school, while Kotoha is watching over the world from afar, and they will have to face their own pasts and futures. It has been announced that Takahashi, Horie, Hayami, and Saito will continue to play their roles as voice actors. The series will be broadcast on ABC TV/TV Asahi's late-night anime slot "ANiMAZiNG!!!" from 2 a.m. on January 11, 2025.
