Actors Suzuka Hiroshi and Matsumoto Honoka co-star in Fuji TV's Monday 9pm drama "Usotoki Rhetoric" (Mondays at 9pm). The synopsis and stills from episode 8, which will air on November 25th, have been released.
Detective Hashizaki Kaoru (Mikata Ryosuke) visits the detective agency while Shuku Souma (Suzuka) is away. He asks Urabe Kanoko (Matsumoto) to help him distribute flyers raising awareness of pickpockets and bag snatchers.
The other day, while Kaoru was calling for increased vigilance at the end of the year at the station, he was approached by a woman who said she had been pickpocketed. She had been on her way to attend the birth of her daughter, who had married and moved far away, when her wallet was stolen. At the woman's request, Kaoru lent her the money for a one-way ticket.
When Souma returns, he tells her that it's a short-term loan scam. However, Kaoru doesn't seem to suspect the woman.
At Kurata, Tatsuzo Kurata (Koji Okura) and Rokuhei (Hiroki Konno) of Yaoroku get into a fight. Souma and Kanoko are asked by Yoshie (Sayaka Isoyama) and Taro (Soraji Shibuya) to mediate.
The issue was over bento boxes. Rokuhei had ordered a boxed lunch from Kurata for a suddenly arranged get-together. Rokuhei asks for thirteen folds, but the note says twenty-three (23) folds, and Tatsuzo made that many boxes. However, Rokuhei insists that he also wrote thirteen folds on the order form.
Souma calls Tatsuzo, Rokuhei, and Yoshie into his office one by one to hear what happened. All three say that Rokuhei had verbally asked for thirteen folds when he ordered. Yoshie had also seen Rokuhei write "thirteen folds." So why was the note saying twenty-three folds? Is someone lying?
Kanoko can't hear the lies in what the three are saying either. She wonders if she has become deaf to lies...
The story is based on the manga of the same name by Miyako Ritsu, which was serialized in Bessatsu Hana to Yume (Hakusensha) from 2012 to 2018.
