It has been announced that voice actors Shimazaki Nobunaga and Fukumatsu Shinya will appear in the TV anime "Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (Chi: Chikyu no Undo ni Tsuite)", based on the manga by Uoto, which was also selected as the Manga Grand Prize winner of the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. Shimazaki will play Kolbe, Jorenta's senior at the astronomy research institute, and Fukumatsu will play Count Piast, a leading authority on cosmology. Kolbe and Count Piast will appear in the 7th episode, "For the Truth," which will air on November 9th. A cut from the 7th episode has also been released.
A video titled "Chi. Chapter 2: A 5-Minute Guide to the Anime" in the Past," which depicts Okji, Badeni, and Jorenta working together to prove the heliocentric theory, has been released on YouTube.
The series was serialized in "Weekly Big Comic Spirits" (Shogakukan) from 2020 to 2022. Set in 15th century Europe, it depicts people risking their lives to research the heretical heliocentric theory. The anime is produced by Madhouse, the studio behind "Summer Wars." It airs every Saturday at 11:45 p.m. on NHK General TV. It has a total of 25 episodes.
