The car-loving comedy duo "Ogiyahagi" delves into the "car histories" of their guests on "Ogiyahagi's Car History NO CAR, NO LIFE!" (BS Nippon TV, Saturday 9pm). On December 13th, they will experience the coveted Route 66 in Texas, USA, for their first overseas location shoot, titled "Ogiyahagi's Car History NO CAR, NO LIFE! in USA 2-Hour Special: First Overseas Location Filming...What's the Problem?"
This marks the show's first overseas location shoot in its 15th year since its first broadcast in October 2011. After the pair enjoyed Route 66, the "mother road" connecting the east and west of the United States, they were welcomed by Steve, a YouTuber and huge Japanese car enthusiast with over 760,000 subscribers. Steve worked in Japan for six years from his twenties, and fell in love with the customization of classic Japanese cars. He's a die-hard enthusiast who has owned over 100 Japanese cars to date. His cars include an incredibly customized Nissan Fairlady Z and a Savanna RX-7, which he says holds unforgettable memories with his son.
Steve also invited some fellow owners who love Japanese cars. As the show introduced the passionate Japanese cars of various owners, we also saw a girl with an innocent expression. This Japanese car driven by a 17-year-old high school girl was also featured.
Ogiyahagi then visits one of the largest automobile museums in Texas, located in Fort Worth. Seeing the legendary Toyota car majestically enshrined on the turntable, Ogi Hiroaki is moved and exclaims, "It's a source of pride for Japan." The museum was built with private funds by an owner who made his fortune selling used car parts. Of all the cars, this one is said to have cost a considerable amount of money. Ogi raises a question about the price, which is in a completely different league from the original.
