The final episode (episode 10) of the drama series "Papa to Chichi no Uchigohan" (TV Asahi, Saturday 11pm), starring So Matsushima of the popular group "Timeless" and actor Jin Shirasu, will be broadcast on December 6th. Ahead of the final episode, Matsushima and Shirasu have made comments.
This heartwarming story depicts the "new form of family" in which single fathers Sengoku Satoshi (Matsushima) and Harumi Masahiro (Shirasu) live together with their children Airi (Tanahashi Nozomi) and Seiichiro (Sakura). In the final episode, Airi decides to go to Hawaii with her mother Maki (Yamashita Rio), and a farewell party is held at Yukari's (Misako Renbutsu) cafe.
However, Sengoku cannot hide his loneliness, so Yukari suggests, "Why don't you make a last meal to remember, with your feelings for Airi in mind?" And so, on the morning of her departure, Sengoku gives Airi a bento lunch, but refuses to go to see her off... and so the story unfolds.
Matsushima said, "I think this is the culmination of 'As a Father' and 'As a Daddy.' There's actually not just one way to be a parent, or what a family is, but many different patterns and options... I feel like this final episode carefully depicts the true essence of family. What option does Sengoku choose, and why did he choose that option? I think the final episode is packed with Sengoku's way of life, so I hope you'll sympathize with all the characters and watch until the end."
Shirasu said, "What decisions will Sengoku, Maki, and Airi make? I hope everyone will watch closely as they make this big decision. Both Harumi and Seiichiro were greatly helped by Sengoku and Airi, so I think both myself and Sakura, who played Seiichiro, have given a lot of thought to how they can support Sengoku and Airi when they find themselves in a difficult situation. I hope you will look forward to that, and to seeing how it all ends and this "culmination" of their family life."
It was also announced that an Instagram live broadcast will be held by Matsushima, Shirasu, and co-star Shuto Inomata from 10:30 pm on the 6th, 30 minutes before the final episode airs.
