On November 16th, Eisa Ikeda from the idol group Nogizaka46 made a guest appearance on TBS's talk show "Sunday Japon" (Sundays at 10am).
This was Ikeda's first appearance on the show. The show featured her as a "two-sword style" idol who is also a student at Tokyo University of the Arts, and regular on the show, lawyer Atsushi Hosono, a fan of Nogizaka46, spoke passionately about how amazing Ikeda is.
She explained how she joined Nogizaka46 after passing an audition with a competition ratio of 8,000 to 1, and how she was accepted into university while continuing her activities with Nogizaka46. There was also a moment when the lovestruck lawyer Hosono suddenly uttered a familiar phrase from Ikeda's blog, "I've found Teresa Panda!", which got the studio excited.
On social media, viewers were quick to comment, "This is the first time I've seen Ikeda Eisa, and she's so cute," "Ikeda is a student at Tokyo University of the Arts, and Nogizaka is a monster," "It's pronounced 'Teresa' and not 'Eisa'?! That's the kind of name that would stop you in your tracks if you turned around," "That girl on Sanjapo is so doll-like and incredibly beautiful!! Is it pronounced 'Teresa'? That's a lovely name, I'll remember it," "She has an intelligent way of speaking and is cute, so I like her," and "A beautiful girl from Tokyo University of the Arts is just the best."
On the 17th, Ikeda updated her Instagram (@teresaikedaofficial) and wrote, "I was nervous during the live broadcast, but I really enjoyed the warm atmosphere on set. The time went by so quickly. Thank you very much!"
