It has been revealed that the number of views for the catch-up streaming of the first episode of the drama series " Ubai Ai, Manatsu " (TV Asahi, Friday 11:15pm *excluding some regions), starring actress Marika Matsumoto , which began airing on July 18th, exceeded 1 million in three days (calculated by TVer DATA MARKETING, period: July 19th to 21st).
The drama is a new installment in the "Ubai Ai" series, which has become a hot topic for its love-hate drama and the cast's eccentric performances, and is written by series creator Osamu Suzuki. In the first episode, the main character Umino Manatsu (Matsumoto) breaks up with her lover with whom she had an affair, and then makes a fresh start by changing jobs from a weekly photo magazine reporter to working in PR for the watch manufacturer "TOWANI". However, TOWANI's president Sorachi Taimu ( Ken Yasuda Ken) looks just like her ex-boyfriend, photographer Oura Hayato (Yasuda playing two roles), and so on.
The first episode ended with a shocking twist in which Manatsu, who kissed Yume while his wife was present, time-leaps to the morning of the kiss. Viewers took to social media with comments such as, "It's mind-blowing, a time-leaping affair, a first for anybody," "It's way off the charts!" and "There are so many things to point out, I love it."
Also, the scene in which Tokimu's wife, the painter Sorachi Miku (Maryjun Takahashi), senses something "wrong" with her husband and paints a canvas completely black while singing Southern All Stars' "Manatsu no Kajitsu" (Manatsu no Fruit), attracted attention, with comments such as "It gave me goosebumps," "This is the scariest midsummer fruit in the world," "Maryjun is scary," and "Maryjun Takahashi. I can't wait to see how she breaks down."
