The drama series " DOPE " (TBS, Friday 10pm) starring Kaito Takahashi of the popular group "King & Prince" and actor Tomoya Nakamura . The synopsis and stills from the third episode, which will air on July 18th, have been released.
In order to investigate Jinnai's (Nakamura) past, Saiki (Takahashi) uncovers the investigation materials of the case of Jinnai's wife, Kaori (Iriyama Noriko), with the help of Tsubaki (Oshinari Shugo) of the First Investigation Division. Tsubaki, who was involved in the investigation, was concerned about Jinnai after the incident. However, when Tsubaki suspects that Jinnai has been taking DOPE, he asks Saiki to keep an eye on Jinnai.
Saiki is relieved that his mother, Miwako ( Sei Matobu), who was in a rehabilitation facility for DOPE addicts, is to be released from the facility. However, DOPE is discovered in the belongings of a resident who suddenly dies inside the facility. The Special Investigation Division begins an investigation and succeeds in contacting Jahid (Ueno Yukio), a DOPE dealer. With the drugs confirmed and an arrest imminent, Jahid takes DOPE when he has an opportunity. This awakens a special power...
The story is based on the same-titled novel (Kadokawa Bunko) by Kizaki Chiaki, who made her debut as a novelist after winning the grand prize at the 20th Dengeki Novel Prize with "Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens." Set in a near-future Japan where a mysterious new drug called "DOPE" is rampant, Saiki Yuto (Takahashi), a rookie narcotics agent of the secret Narcotics Control Department's Special Investigation Division (Special Investigation Division), and his trainer Jinnai Teppei (Nakamura), attempt to solve a mysterious case.
