Shinji Iwashimizu, played by Yuki Kura, is a reporter at the editorial department of the Kochi Shimpo newspaper and Nobu's colleague. He is frank with Tokairin.
Kotoko Oda, played by Yui Narumi, joined the Kochi Shimpo newspaper together with Nobu as its first female reporter after the war. She is usually demure, but when she drinks, she becomes a bit tongue-tied.
Manzo Nomura plays the role of Ryo Kirishima, the editor-in-chief of the Kochi Shimpo newspaper. As one of the top brass, he makes decisions while keeping an eye on the movements of the occupying forces.
Izuru Torii, played by Koji Furukawa, is the deputy editor-in-chief of the Kochi Shimpo newspaper. He often criticizes Shoji's methods.
Tatsuya Midorikawa, played by Riku Kashima, is a reporter at the editorial department of the Kochi Shimpo newspaper. He is a reporter in the social affairs department. He is harsh towards the freelance reporters Nobu, Tokairin, and Iwashimizu.
Masamitsu Aoki, played by Takuya Wakabayashi, is a reporter at the editorial department of the Kochi Shimpo newspaper. He is in the social affairs department. Like Midorikawa, he is harsh towards Nobu and his friends.
◇ Week 14 "Happiness, Where Are You?" Synopsis: It's been a while since I've felt my heart leap with joy
In the 14th week, Nobu, who joined the Kochi Shimpo newspaper as its first female reporter since the war, is overwhelmed when she is sent to the scene to report on her first day.
From the next day, he writes an article about his findings at the black market, but Tokairin rejects it many times, but finally, his first article is selected for the morning edition. Meanwhile, Nobu becomes an editor for the evening edition... Meanwhile, Takashi (Takumi Kitamura) and Kentaro (Fumiya Takahashi) sell scrap goods.
One day, Taka finds an American magazine amongst the junk and is excited by the cutting edge designs he sees...and so the story unfolds.
"Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013) and Nobu (1918-1993), the manga artist and picture book writer who created "Anpanman." It is a "story of love and courage" that will make you feel the joy of living, depicting how these two, who were once nobody, overcame all sorts of rough seas to become "Anpanman," the embodiment of "unreversible justice."
