◇The following contains spoilers.
In the third episode, it has been three years since Moeko started living with Hiromi as "Nakakoshi Miumi". Hiromi still lives with great care to avoid Miumi (Maeda Hana) being seen by others. Since Hiromi cannot leave Miumi at a daycare facility, she asks her neighbor Hatsume (Ogawa Rina) to babysit her during the day and continues to work as a cook at the nursery school as before. Miumi has now turned six and has grown into a lively girl who loves trains, and has no memory of anything that happened up until the age of three.
Hiromi has been hoping that Asahi (Nao Omori), who lost his daughter, will be thrown into the depths of misery and suffer like he was before. However, Asahi has been working at a major supermarket run by his father-in-law Masato Kido (Takeo Nakahara), and has launched a new supermarket called "Switchback," becoming a potential successor to Kido. Furthermore, Asahi has not accepted Moeko's death in an accident for the past three years, and has been putting out a reward to search for her.
Hiromi, unaware of this, faces a family register issue before Miumi starts elementary school. At her wit's end, Hiromi contacts her ex-husband Keigo (Takahashi Mitsuomi) and asks him to give false testimony in order to obtain Miumi's family register. She also approaches Asahi's ex-wife, Emiko (Tsuruta Mayu), who works at a snack bar, to obtain a sample for a DNA test and obtain Miumi's family register. Miumi safely enters elementary school... and so the story unfolds.
The story then depicts Hiromi and Miumi seven years later. Hiromi, who raised Miumi to the first year of junior high school, happens to meet a vending machine salesman who happens to be there when he tries to buy a drink from a vending machine near the nursery school. It is Kumura, who used to be Ririko's tutor. Kumura, who once saw Hiromi in front of the Yuki house, silently stares at Hiromi's face in front of the vending machine.
On social media, the appearance of Kumura, who had been accused of sexual harassment by Ririko in the past and had posted lies on social media, caused a stir, with comments such as "Sudden turn of events!" and "Psychic panic." Furthermore, in the preview for the next episode, a scene was shown in which Kumura muttered, "It's crazy, isn't it, for a murderer to be promoted," which is thought to be a reference to Asahi, and this led to comments such as "Are Hiromi and Kumura-kun teaming up after all...?", "Are they joining forces out of resentment?" and "Will they join forces with Kumura-kun to get revenge on Yuki-san?"
