The music program "The Greatest Hits" will be broadcast on NHK General TV from 11:30 pm on April 26th. The fourth episode will feature Hide, who passed away in 1998 at the young age of 33.
Hide joined X (later known as X JAPAN) in 1987, and began performing as a solo artist in 1993. This year marks his 60th birthday, and the many tasteful works he left behind are now being re-evaluated.
The program will feature three performances by hide on NHK's "Pop Jam." "Beauty & Stupid," his first solo performance on an NHK music program in 1996, "Hi-Ho" in 1997, and "ROCKET DIVE" in February 1998, his final performance, all in high definition.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of NHK's broadcasting, and a new 15-minute program will deliver the best performance footage of Japanese pop music from the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras from music programs such as "Let's Go Young," "Pop Jam," and "MUSIC JAPAN." The MCs will be the comedy duo "New York."
