Fashion designer sisters Hiroko Koshino, Junko Koshino, and Michiko Koshino will appear on the three-hour special variety show "Platinum Family" (TV Asahi, excluding some regions) to be broadcast at 7pm on April 15th. The show will follow the youngest sister Michiko on her visit to her hometown of Osaka, and the Koshino sisters' birthplace in Osaka will be shown on TV for the first time.
The Kishiwada Danjiri Festival, held every September, is a special event for the Koshino family, and Michiko says she always returns home every year during the festival. The Koshino family home is located in the middle of the shopping street where the danjiri passes, and the second-floor balcony is a special seat. Looking inside the home, there is a space for guests to stay called Koshino Resort, which Michiko herself planned to renovate, and even a private bar. There is also an episode about the late Koshino Ayako, the mother of the three sisters. Ayako was a big fan of alcohol, and would regularly invite men in tuxedos for 1-on-10 drinking parties.
The program also follows the celebration of the eldest daughter Hiroko's "88th birthday party." The three sisters, who rarely see each other in normal life, are gathered together, and the guests, including CEOs of major companies and big names in the Kabuki world, total about 320 people.
The event included a joint performance by Hiroko and a shamisen player who is a Living National Treasure, a video introducing Hiroko's life using AI, and greetings from a star-studded cast including Mao Daichi. Hiroko, who turned 88, said, "My biggest rival in life is Junko. I'm able to stay this healthy because of Junko," and talked about her future plans.
The program, which introduces the lifestyle of the "gorgeous family = platinum family," will begin regular broadcasts from today. In addition to a close look at the three Koshino sisters, the first episode will also introduce the home of world-famous violinist Eriko Sumi and the elegant lifestyle of Japanese businesswoman Keiko Aoki, who is active in the United States.
