Singer-songwriter Ikuta Rira has written the ending theme "Sing along!!!" for the movie " Ya Boy Kongming! THE MOVIE" (directed by Shibue Shuhei, scheduled for release on April 25th) starring Mukai Osamu Mukai . A special video was released on March 31st, showing the song being sung by three people of the same generation - Eiko (Kamishiraishi Moka), Shin ( Utaha), and Ikuta herself - for the first time.
The song was arranged by Kenmochi Hidefumi of Wednesday Campanella, where Utaha is the vocalist. In addition, it was revealed that Ikuta will make a cameo appearance in the movie version as herself, following the final episode of the drama.
Regarding this collaboration, Kamishiraishi expressed her joy, saying, "I can sum it up in one word: I think it's a reward for life. There have been many times when I've gotten discouraged or stumbled and fallen while singing, but it was truly a reward that made me realize once again that I have been singing for moments like these."
Utaha also expressed her delight, saying, "I'm not usually good at recording and I have a short concentration span so I can't always work hard for long periods of time, but this time I just had fun so I went for it.I was really happy to have such a wonderful opportunity to have my voice overlap with the people who listen to me on a regular basis."
Regarding the song's creation, Ikuta said, "I had the opportunity to see the movie early, and honestly, I wanted to put the passion of people who love music into a song. And because they are all music lovers, I wanted to create a song that would support them and that would allow me to explode with my own love for music."
The film is the feature-length version of the TV drama "Ya Boy Kongming!" (Fuji TV, 2023), which is based on a popular manga currently being serialized in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha). The story follows the genius military strategist Zhuge Kongming (Mukai) from the Three Kingdoms period who is reincarnated in modern-day Shibuya and becomes the military strategist of amateur singer Tsukimi Eiko (Kamishiraishi), who uses clever schemes to break down all the obstacles that stand in her way and lead her to success. The film also introduces new characters, including Sima Jun (Fuju Kamio), a descendant of Sima Yi, Kongming's biggest rival from the Three Kingdoms period, and his sister, singer Shin (Utaha). Standing in the way of Kongming and Eiko.
