In the early Showa era, a young girl who grew up surrounded by the love of her family runs energetically through the town of Kochi. Her name is Nobu Asada(played by Nagase Yuzuna), aka "Hachikin Onobu."
Nobu rushes into the station to pick up her father, Yutaro (Ryo Kase), who works for a trading company and travels around the country and abroad, but ends up bumping into a boy. The boy's name is Taku Yanai (Yuki Kimura). After his father (Kazunari Ninomiya) dies from illness, he comes to Gomenyo Town with his mother Tomiko (Nanako Matsushima) to live with his uncle Hiroshi (Yutaka Takenouchi).
"Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013) and Nobu Komatsu(1918-1993), the manga artist and picture book writer who created "Anpanman." It is a "story of love and courage" that will make you feel the joy of living, depicting how these two, who were once nobody, overcame all sorts of rough seas to become "Anpanman," the embodiment of "unreversible justice."
Nobu Komatsu will play the main character (heroine), Nobu Asada, and Takashi Yanase will play Takashi Yanai, who is based on Takumi Kitamura.
