An event for the TV anime "Rock wa Lady no Tashinamideshite, " based on the manga by Fukuda Hiroshi currently being serialized in "Young Animal" (Hakusensha), was held on March 23rd at the world's largest anime event, "AnimeJapan 2025," held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo). Akira Sekine , who plays Lilisa Suzunomiya , and Miyuri Shimabukuro, who plays Kurogane Otoha, made an appearance. They talked about the appeal of the characters they play and episodes from recording.
In the scene where former rock girl Ririsa and virtuoso lady drummer Otoha exchange insults, Sekine-san acted without worrying about the lines overlapping with Shimabukuro-san. She said that the heat gradually increased from the test before the performance, and she revealed with a smile that "we were seriously exchanging insults the whole time" from the test. Shimabukuro-san looked back and said, "I was desperately trying to hang on to Sekine-san's passionate Ririsa, I didn't want to lose, I was trying to beat her."
Also appearing at the event were Ayaka Fukuhara, who plays Tina Insemi, Natsumi Fujiwara, who plays Tamaki Shiraya, and director Shinya Watada. Fujiwara spoke about the film's appeal, saying, "The clash of souls through rock is truly amazing," while Fukuhara said, "I think this is a film that will cheer up anyone who has passion, anyone who wants to get passionate, everyone."
"Rock wa Lady no Tashinamideshite" is a manga by Fukuda, who is known for "The World in 5 Minutes" and "Tojo Senjin!! Mushibugyo", and is a youth story with the theme of "young lady x rock" that began serialization in "Young Animal" in October 2022. Lilisa Suzunomiya, when she meets Kurogane Otoha, a highly skilled young lady drummer who attends the same school, she is inspired to play rock again and starts playing in a band. The anime is produced by BN Pictures. It will be broadcast on TBS every Thursday at 11:56 pm from April 3rd.
