Tomori Kusunoki:"Chainsaw Man" Denji's "udon" is a highlight, "it's dynamic" - AnimeJapan appearance

An event for the movie version of " Chainsaw Man : Reze Arc," a sequel to the TV anime " Chainsaw Man ," based on the popular manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto currently being serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump +," was held at the world's largest anime event, "AnimeJapan 2025," held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo) on March 23. Tomori Kusunoki, who plays Makima, cited the scene in episode 2 where Denji eats udon as a memorable scene from the TV anime.

Kusunoki said that ever since he read the original work, he was interested in how the udon noodles were drawn, and said, "I was looking forward to seeing what would happen when the noodles moved. I like the sloppy face of Denji, just like in the original work, and the dynamic udon." In the story, there is a scene where Denji barks like a dog, and Kikunosuke Toya, who plays Denji, revealed that he burst out laughing when he heard a realistic dog bark during the test recording.

Also appearing at the event were Toya, who plays Denji, and Uchida Maaya, who plays the Angel Devil. It was also announced that the release date for "Chainsaw Man Reze" will be September 19th. A total of 12 character visuals were unveiled, including Chainsaw Man, Denji, Pochita, Makima, Hayakawa Aki, Power, Higashiyama Kobeni, Beam, the Demon of Violence, the Angel Devil, Reze from the movie version, and Bomb the Bomb Devil.

The "Reze" episode will be the story of Reze and the main character, Denji, who also appeared at the end of the TV anime broadcast from October to December 2022. While Denji is enjoying a date with his crush Makima, he takes shelter from the rain and meets Reze, a girl who works at a cafe.

"Chainsaw Man" is a dark hero action story about a boy named Denji who is possessed by a demon and works as a devil hunter. The first part was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from December 2018 to December 2020. The second part has been serialized in "Shonen Jump +" since July 2022.

The TV anime aired from October to December 2022.
