A total of 24 cast members from the TBS Sunday Theatre drama " Mikami Sensei " (Sundays at 9pm) starring Tori Matsuzaka appeared on stage at the "Rintoku Gakuin Culture Festival" at the "TBS AKASAKA COLLECTION produced by TGC" held in Tokyo on March 23rd. They talked about the drama, which will be airing its final episode tonight.
Appearing were Sakura Kiryu as Shiiba, Yudai Toyoda as Miyazawa, Akari Takaishi as Chigira, and Koki Yamashita as Fuyuki, as well as the 22 students from Class 3-2 of Rintoku Academy, where Mikami (Matsuzaka) is the homeroom teacher, Takaya Sakoda as Takaya Sakoda, the head teacher of the third year class, and Kaito Sakurai as Kaito Sakurai, a bureaucrat at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Sakoda and Sakurai acted as facilitators for the talk.
During the talk, they will reveal behind-the-scenes stories while looking at behind-the-scenes shots from filming, and also announce the results of a class survey, including questions such as "Who is the class idol?", "Who seems like they're good at sports?" and "Who is most likely to cry at the graduation ceremony?"
Sakoda, who said he came as a chaperone, acted as the host with Sakurai, but said, "I wasn't an MC at all. I came here to increase my likeability, so I think I did my job... See you again tonight at 9 o'clock." Sakurai, who participated in TGC for the first time, commented, "It was a lot of fun. I had the very unique experience of hosting in a suit. Thank you." At the end, walking down the runway with the student actors, Sakoda took off his "Rintoku jumper" and struck a pose, but quickly picked it up and put it back on.
The drama is an original "great reversal story of education revival" in which Takashi Mikami (played by Matsuzaka), a bureaucrat in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, who wants to change Japan's education system, takes to the podium at a private high school and stands up to authority while guiding 18-year-old high school students living in the Reiwa era.
"TBS AKASAKA COLLECTION produced by TGC" is the first collaboration between TGC and TBS, which are celebrating their 20th anniversary. In addition to the special stage of the Sunday Theatre "Mikami Sensei", there will be a stage for the popular morning program "Ravit!", a stage for "King's Brunch", and a stage for artists and models, and other impressive performers will appear, and the event will be held over two days, March 22nd and 23rd.
