On March 20th, it was revealed that BS12 TwellV's first drama production in about five years, the serial drama "June's Time Machine", will be broadcast on the station from May 4th. It was also announced that the drama is based on the mystery-based experience game "August's Time Machine" and that Shiga Riku of the eight-member male dance and vocal unit "ICEx" will play the lead role.
The original work, "August Time Machine," is a popular multiplayer detective game/murder mystery in which participants become the characters and discuss to solve the case. This time, the setting and characters have been drastically changed and it has been made into a live-action drama under the title "June Time Machine."
A coming-of-age sci-fi mystery in which two brothers and four friends repeatedly time-leap to prevent the upcoming death of a childhood friend and uncover the truth behind the incident.
Shiga will play the main character, Kashiwagi Ao, who is simple, straightforward, and loved by everyone. He commented, "Of course, playing the lead role was a dream of mine, and I didn't think it would come true so soon so I was very happy, but at the same time I was a bit anxious because I still have little experience as an actor and there were many things I didn't know. I believe it was fate that I came across this work, and that it will continue to be connected to me in the future, so I will face it with all my might and challenge myself in various ways. I will do my best to make this a work that is loved by many people. Thank you for your support!"
The four childhood friends will be played by Ryosuke Yagami of ICex, Momona Obama, who is active as a TV personality, Kyo Sato, who has appeared in films such as "STRANGERS", and Yuna Yajima of the nine-member female group "ONE LOVE ONE HEART". Additionally, Matsumoto Taiki from "Ultraman Decker" will play Aoi's older brother, Ryusei Kashiwagi, who is a joker but also a strong leader of his friends.
Matsumoto said, "I've always been very interested in science fiction and mystery works, and they're a genre I've always admired, so I was very happy to be able to appear in this production. There are a lot of long lines, so I thought this would be a challenge for me as an actor, and I'm really looking forward to it even before filming begins!"
The drama will be written and directed by Ryo Kawakami, the creator of the "Jinro Game" series. It will be broadcast every Sunday from May 4th at 9:30 am.
